As Secretary of the Student Government, a member of the National Honor Society, and a competitive fencer, Bradley Kaufman, ‘18 embraced a number of leadership roles and activities at Léman, and still found the time to become a full IB Diploma Candidate. "The IB was really difficult, but, with the help of my teachers and (IB Diploma Coordinator) Ms. Alexander, I feel like I was prepared and did well on my exams," he said.
Bradley will enroll at New York University, ranked #30 in national universities by US News and World Report, in the fall, where he was recruited as a member of the university's fencing team and plans to major in Economics. "Economics was my favorite class at Léman, and that was mostly due to (Economics teacher) Mr. Trebatch. He broke down my idea of what economics was and rebuilt it. He didn't just teach me what to think, but how to think, and that was really inspiring," he said.
When Bradley started at Léman in the 5th grade, he was one of the first classes to attend school in the Morris Upper School building. "I've always loved the school, and when I entered 9th grade I was excited because many of my new classmates were international. It taught me how to communicate with people from around the world and learn about other cultural perspectives I'm going to miss interacting with people from Columbia, China, and the Ukraine on a daily basis. That's one of the things that I loved most about coming to school at Léman."
