2024-2025: A Year of Outstanding Outcomes

June 13, 2025

Dear Léman Families,

As we close our 20th school year, I would like to thank you for trusting Léman with your child’s education.

As we prepare to start our third decade in the 25-26 school year, I would like to share the following school highlights that illustrate Léman’s continued success and exceptional academic outcomes.

Class of 2025 & Impressive College Results

  • Our 87 graduates this year earned 640 college acceptances across 175 different schools.

  • 74% of graduates will attend colleges and universities in the US, including Columbia, Penn, Cornell, Barnard, University of Chicago, Tufts, Emory, NYU and others.

  • 10% of graduates will attend top universities outside of the United States, 9% of graduates will attend selective art or film schools, 4% will attend top HBCUs, and 3% will attend specialty or military programs.

Based on our research, Léman is the first private school to have students accepted to all Ivy Leagues in the first 10 years of graduating classes. As we prepare to graduate our 14th senior class in 2026, I am confident our results will continue to impress and enable students to reach their college goals.

Record IB Engagement

  • 85% of next year’s junior class will be pursuing the full IB Diploma. Since becoming an IB School nearly 10 years ago, engagement in the full IB Diploma has increased year over year. This demonstrates the caliber of our high school students and their commitment to the most rigorous college preparatory program in the world.

MAP Testing Outperformance

  • For the fourth consecutive year, students in grade 2 through 10 outperformed peers at other private schools in New York on the MAP test across math, reading, and writing. In most grades, our students outperformed cohorts of more than 6,000 other test takers.

High Faculty and Staff Retention

  • 91% of Léman faculty and staff will return next year, up 2% this year, and up 15% from five years ago when the pandemic caused major disruption to workforces everywhere. Retaining our faculty and staff will remain a key priority as we move forward.

Strong Enrollment

  • For the last two years, Léman has achieved record re-enrollment of 87%. For an international, 17-grade school in New York City, this is exceptional.

  • We will welcome approximately 150 new students to our school next year, in line with our thoughtful growth goals.

  • More than 50% of new families are referred by a current parent, indicating high satisfaction with our school and strong word of mouth.

Financial Strength For The Future

  • As I shared at the May 21 Léman Exchange, Léman recently received a major strategic investment of $40 million from Collegio Partners and education-focused family offices.

  • This funding rendered the school 100% debt free, and enabled us to make commitments to long-term leases at both campuses and develop plans for strategic investments to our educational program, with a focus on AI.

As I enter my 10th year as Head of School next year, I am continually impressed by the dedication of Léman teachers, students, and families. Your choice to be part of our community is what makes us such a special and strong school. Léman is the only downtown private school that offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and that serves children 12 months to 12th grade. We are uniquely positioned for growth in the NYC private school market and our school has a bright future ahead.

Congratulations to your children on all of their learning accomplishments this year! They have demonstrated dedication, perseverance, inclusion and kindness. I wish you a restorative and restful summer, full of fun and adventure.

On behalf of Léman administration, faculty and staff, we look forward to seeing you and your children again in September for our 21st school year!

Sincerely,

Maria
