Léman Enters Third Decade as Leading Downtown School

June 09, 2025

From just 54 students its first year in 2005, to nearly 700 students today, Léman’s growth and strength of community is a tremendous educational success story. After a celebratory 20th school year this year, Léman is well positioned to enter its third decade as the largest private school in Lower Manhattan, the area’s only IB school, New York City’s only boarding school and the only downtown school serving students ages 12 months to 12th grade.

Léman’s two campuses in historic buildings play a critical role in the daily learning experience, building community, and Léman’s beloved traditions. Situated across two campuses at the iconic 41 Broad Street and 25 Broadway addresses in the heart of New York City's Financial District just steps from Wall Street, Léman’s campuses offer a vibrant and inspiring environment that reflects the school’s global outlook and commitment to academic excellence.

A Landmark of Learning in Downtown Manhattan

41 Broad Street and 25 Broadway, known for their architectural grandeur and historical significance, serve as fitting homes for a school that blends tradition with innovation. With spacious classrooms, modern science labs, art studios, and performance spaces — all within storied buildings — Léman students are immersed in settings that spark curiosity and creativity.

The school’s central location attracts students from all five boroughs of New York City and areas of New Jersey and allows for real-world learning opportunities. Students regularly engage with the rich cultural and business resources of Lower Manhattan — from walking tours of Wall Street and visits to the 9/11 Memorial Museum, to guest speakers from global companies just blocks away. Learning at Léman extends far beyond the classroom.

A Long-Term Commitment to Community

Léman Manhattan is proud to continue its journey at these historic campuses for years to come. This enduring presence reflects the school’s investment not only in its students, but in the surrounding neighborhood that has embraced Léman as a vital part of the downtown community.

“We’re thrilled to be growing and thriving in Lower Manhattan,” says Maria Castelluccio, Head of School at Léman Manhattan. “Our campuses at 41 Broad Street and 25 Broadway give us the foundation to provide students with a truly world-class education in one of the most dynamic areas of the city.”

Looking Ahead

As Léman looks to the future, the school remains deeply committed to innovation in education, global citizenship, and the well-being of every student. From expanding enrichment programs to enhancing campus facilities, every decision is rooted in the school’s mission to prepare students for success in an ever-changing world.
