Junior Caelyn O. Ranks High in NY State Roger Rees Awards
Junior Caelyn O. represented Léman at the 2024 Roger Rees Awards, which is the NY regional chapter of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (also known as “The Jimmy Awards”). The Jimmy Awards are the High School version of The Tony Awards. We are excited to announce that Caelyn placed in the top 25 student actresses in the NY region.
Sophomores Receive Honorable Mention in the 2024 Scholastic Art Awards
Sophomores Keito O. and Genevieve S. received Honorable Mention Awards from the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program is the longest-running, most prestigious program for creative teens in the U.S., and the nation’s largest source of scholarships for creative young artists and writers.

22 Léman Digital Photo students will have their work on display in the upcoming 13th Annual Photoville Festival from June 1st-16th. Photoville amplifies visual storytellers and connects them to a worldwide diverse audience through its free photo festival and year-round activation of public spaces and educational community programming. William Caro ‘24 Performs with New York Philharmonic
Recent graduate William Caro ‘24 performed with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of the acclaimed conductor, Gustavo Dudamel on April 24th. This special concert, which recently took place, featured high school students from all five boroughs of NYC playing alongside members of the world-famous NY Philharmonic Orchestra. William participated in the percussion section for this unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Esmé Maria Ng ‘18 Named Recipient of June Bingham New Playwright Commission
Esmé Maria Ng ‘18 was recently named the 2024 recipient of the June Bingham New Playwright Commission by Live & In Color Theater. The June Bingham New Playwright Commission provides support to a new generation of early-career women and/or non-binary storytellers as they seek to create work that manifests change in the world. Esmé's new play “I Know Why Iris Chang Died” will be developed over the course of the next few months, and will then complete a workshop of the piece at Live & In Color's annual fall retreat in September. This opportunity will culminate in a 60-90 min 2-person play that will be workshopped and presented to an audience. Click here to read the Broadway World announcement.
Léman Receives 8th Distinction from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation
For the 8th consecutive year, Léman's Music Department has been awarded the "Support Music Merit Award" by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, which distinguishes Léman as one of the best communities for music education in the United States for the 2023-2024 school year.
