21 Lower Schoolers Win Noetic Math Contest Distinctions

Congratulations to 21 Léman Lower Schoolers who recently received distinctions and recognition from the Noetic Math Contest! As one of the most highly-competitive problem solving competitions for young learners in the country, the contest tasks aspiring mathematicians with completing 20 creatively complex problems, all without a calculator. It is the hope that through competing, students will walk away with an increased love of mathematics and a desire to develop their problem solving skills.

17 students received national Honorable Mentions in the competition and earned this distinction by earning a score within the top 50% of students in their grade nationally. These students include:

Four Léman students also were named as the team winners, having earned the highest score in their grade at Léman. These students are:

• Dylan C., Grade 2

• Ethan H., Grade 3

• Blaike S., Grade 4

• Tanisha J., Grade 5

Finally, 3rd grader Ethan H. also earned a spot in the math competition’s National Honor Role, having earned a score in the top 10% of participants in his grade nationally.
