On Saturday, June 2, Léman honored its sixth graduating class. Before the ceremony, students walked the streets of the Financial District, a Léman tradition, posing for photos on the steps of Federal Hall, in front of the Charging Bull statue, and in front of the New York Stock Exchange.
During the graduation ceremony at the Broad Street Ballroom, proud parents, students and faculty celebrated the accomplishments of our 87 talented graduates. Caroline Netchvolodoff, Vice President of the Council on Foreign Relations, delivered the keynote address, sharing her experience as an advocate for global literacy, saying "Globally literate people understand what is going on in the world and are able to raise the level of conversation.” Ms. Netchvolodoff encouraged students to strive for global literacy saying, “it requires following one’s passion, and a life-long commitment to learning about the world." Upper School Social Studies and IB Economics Teacher Mark Trebatch provided faculty remarks, and Esmé Ng '18 gave the student speech.
After students walked the stage, the celebration continued at a special reception at the 1 Morris Street campus terrace overlooking the New York Harbor. It was a memorable day for the Léman community.
Congratulations!
