WonderLab Builds Engineering & Coding Foundations

Wonderful things have been happening in the WonderLab!
A dedicated STEAM space accessible to some of Léman’s youngest learners, the WonderLab allows for students to explore the foundations of engineering, all through the lens of play.
Available to students in the Center for Early Childhood and Kindergarten, the WonderLab provides students with a series of tools and toys that introduce them to a variety of ideas and skills central to STEAM learning including push and pull, velocity, and introductory coding. By giving young learners access to these concepts via games and activities, they are able to immerse themselves in academic concepts in a way that feels more familiar and easier to approach.
The space also provides an environment in which students practice essential skills such as collaboration and communication, both of which help students grow into thoughtful, caring, and open-minded learners. The work that students do in the WonderLab, therefore, reflects and reinforces the Portrait of the Léman Manhattan Learner.
