Third Graders Create Their Own City Plans on Project Day

Third graders have been studying communities in social studies and for October's Project Day, students worked as city planners, collaboratively designing a community of their very own. They considered the ways that their community would meet its members' wants and needs, as well as what natural, human, and capital resources would be needed for it to thrive. Students then created their communities out of recycled materials. The project culminated in presentations, where groups each shared their community proposals with the class and their teachers, hoping to get approved!
