6th Grade Trip to Taconic Outdoor Education Center

September 30, 2026

Our 6th Grade students recently took an overnight field trip to the Taconic Outdoor Education Center, providing them with an exciting opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.

During their stay, students connected with nature through a variety of educational and physical activities such as canoeing, night hikes, and outdoor games, challenging themselves while developing an appreciation for nature. They also engaged in hands-on investigations, including forest surveying and macro-invertebrate studies. This allowed them to apply concepts from the classroom in a real-world setting and deepen their understanding of the ecosystems around them.

Through campfire conversations, team-building activities, and shared experiences, students learned to collaborate, communicate, and support one another. They not only expanded their knowledge but also built stronger connections and lasting memories together.
