Léman Students Embark on International Trip to Japan

This summer, Léman students embarked on a journey through Japan, immersing themselves in the country’s rich history, vibrant culture, and spirit of innovation.

Open to students in Grades 9-12, this experience offered students the opportunity to explore three dynamic cities: Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Osaka. Throughout the journey, students engaged with Japan’s cultural landmarks and contemporary traditions, visiting sites such as the historic Meiji Jingu Shrine, the iconic life-sized Gundam statue in Odaiba, and the vibrant neighborhoods of Shibuya and Akihabara.

Beyond sightseeing, students gained meaningful insight into daily life in Japan, from sampling local cuisine and discovering popular convenience store favorites to navigating the rhythms of one of the world’s most dynamic societies. Along the way, they deepened their understanding of Japan’s history, customs, and global influence.

Even an unexpected typhoon became part of the adventure, adding an element of resilience and spontaneity to an already memorable experience. The journey provided students with lasting memories, new perspectives, and a deeper appreciation for the world beyond the classroom.
