February marks Black (Diaspora) History/Heritage Month, a time to commemorate Black excellence and the culture, history, and contributions of people across the Black diaspora.
Léman hosted a series of vibrant celebrations and commemorations for Black History Month, engaging the entire community. The festivities included informative lessons throughout the month, providing students with valuable learning opportunities about Black history and culture. The highlight of the celebration was a lively cookout that brought together students, staff, alumni, and parent volunteers. Among the standout moments was a visit from a Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Patience Higgens, who played uplifting jazz music for students during their lunch. The Black History Month celebrations provided a meaningful and enriching experience for the entire school community, fostering a deeper appreciation for Black culture and achievements.
