Léman Explorers

16-24 months

The toddler years are a period of tremendous exploration and growth, with limitless learning for young children. Developed by Léman's experienced early childhood educators, the Explorers program is a series of "grown up and me" toddler classes for children 16-24 months old designed to foster social, emotional, cognitive and physical development while building confidence and independence.

Our program serves as children's first school experience, acclimating toddlers to a classroom environment and community practices to establish and reinforce positive routines. Through guided play, interactive story time, art, music and movement, the Explorers program sets the foundation for future academic success in an engaging and developmentally-appropriate setting that ignites children's curiosity and harnesses their sense of wonder for the years to come.

Harnessing Wonder

Léman's youngest students explore the world with joy and curiosity. Our nurturing, play-based program helps toddlers establish routines and sets the foundation for future academic success in an engaging environment that builds socialization and independence.

A Day in the Life of Léman Explorers

Play is the work of children. Our toddler program exposes students to developmentally appropriate learning experiences that build pre-academic skills and socialization. To our students, they are engaged in fun, exciting activities!

Our goal is to ensure each child feels comfortable and secure in their learning environment. We warmly greet our students each day from security to the classroom and help parents and caregivers settle into the routine for the day. Each Explorer has their own cubby and stroller parking is right outside the classroom door.

Our classrooms are designed to foster self-directed learning, and help young students start to identify their passions and interests. Exploration centers are set up around the room that focus on individual and small group learning. Sensory, fine motor, dramatic play, literacy activities are rotated throughout the classroom.

Morning Meeting

Across our school, Léman follows the Responsive Classroom model which starts each day with a Morning Meeting to establish community practices and set classroom expectations. Children gather on the rug with their grown-ups and the teacher shares the agenda for the day in an interactive setting.
