Introducing The Sara McMickle Summer Scholarship Program
September 25, 2018
The Sara McMickle Summer Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to outstanding Léman Manhattan high school students so they can pursue enriching summer coursework and research opportunities at leading colleges and universities.
The Summer Scholarship Program is named in honor of Léman Upper School College Counselor Sara McMickle, whose unwavering commitment to student success positively impacted the lives of hundreds of Léman students. Demonstrated by the personalized approach she took to advising and supporting each of her students, Sara helped students navigate the university admissions process to reach their college aspirations. She served as a constant source of mentorship and guidance for students throughout their high school experience at Léman.
In partnership with the Office of College Counseling, the Léman Community Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the parent organization at Léman, provides funding for this important initiative through generous donations from across the Léman community and beyond.
Applicants to the Sara McMickle Summer Scholarship Program must embody the characteristics of a Léman Manhattan Learner and be current Léman rising high school juniors and seniors accepted into a college summer program. Award winners are announced by end of May each year.
