Léman Exchange Welcomes Dr. Derrick Gay: Diversity, Inclusion and Global Citizenship Education Consultant

All current Léman Parents are invited to the next Léman Exchange on Monday, November 6 for a special parent workshop with Dr. Derrick Gay, Diversity, Inclusion and Global Citizenship Education Consultant.

21st century students need to cultivate knowledge, competencies and habits of mind to communicate effectively across difference with respect and compassion. Léman graduates will enter a work force where team work is the norm and collaboration with individuals from different cultural backgrounds is an expectation.

About Dr. Derrick Gay

Dr. Derrick Gay is an internationally recognized consultant to educational, artistic and philanthropic organizations on issues of diversity, inclusion and global citizenship. He collaborates with education thought leaders to foster empathy, enrich inclusion and cultivate cultural competency. Dr. Gay served as a senior administrator at the Nightingale-Bamford School (NY), was a faculty member at the Groton School (MA), Wilmington Friends (DE) and The Masters School (NY), and was dean of students at L'Academie de Paris in Paris, France. He is a graduate of Oberlin College, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania where his research explored how social identity mediates the academic and social experience of students in school.
