The Léman Community Assembles 11,800 Meals During Annual Food Drive

On Thursday, February 29, Léman students, families, and faculty gathered in the 41 Broad Street Ballroom to pack meals for this year’s Rise Against Hunger food packing drive. One of our largest community service efforts of the year, 150 people spanning across all parts of our community worked together to assemble 11,800 meals for communities and individuals facing hunger around the world.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students (with the guidance of CECE and Lower School P.E. Teacher Ms. Calvanico) spearheaded a school-wide fundraising effort to purchase the supplies needed to assemble nutrient-rich meal packs. In total, our community was able to raise just over $5,000 to help those in need.
Léman has worked with Rise Against Hunger for several years and has, to date, assembled 150,000 meals to help support the nonprofit’s cause.
